The recording was done straight to a Marantz 4-track, using the sampled speech (through a Xerograph, Upper and a Fuck, I think), plus three more tracks of noise from various small electronic instruments (such as a Monotron and a PO-12) with mixer (BOSS BX-80) distortion. Fair bit of delay and reverb. No guitars.
